Water dropping once more in the 'wader pit' but just the usual suspects about,
40 lapwing, half a dozen golden plover, around a dozen snipe and the still
resident but elusive green sandpiper. Only fowl of note were 14 teal in the
deeper water areas and a single male goosander on the Ouse itself where the Tove
joins the main river.
Among the gulls was a GBB while two little egrets continue to frequent the river
and the back brook. Kingfisher also along river at usual guaranteed stretch just
west of the Iron Trunk.
Away from the water buzzard over and a sizable flock of winter thrushes
numbering a couple of hundred in the main sheep grazing area (south west of the
wader pit).
